Born of a love of art, creators Stacie McCormick and Igor Jocic aimed to bring artists into their home and provide the walls for viewing and the space for thinking about art and the creation of art.
Home Is Where the Art Is, a Charleston-based, progressive Contemporary Art Initiative, is designed to share art in an accessible, open and comfortable environment. Based in the curators’ historic circa-1880 home, which is custom designed for ample exhibit space, the organization’s goal is to share contemporary art in an intimate, relaxed setting, without diminishing the respect for the artists and their work. Fulfilling a lifetime dream of the curators, Home Is Where The Art Is curates up to three shows of highly respected progressive contemporary artists per year. Exhibits are held in both the home gallery and the organization’s studio space, “Where it’s Made.”
